Patchwork Training Scent Trials
Patchwork Training Scent has been set up to ensure you and your dog have fun whether attending a workshop, a masterclass or a trial.
They will be available at various locations. Plus if your club would like to hold a trial, workshop or masterclass then I will be happy to come along and run one for you. Please just get in touch.
All workshops, masterclasses and Trials will be advertised on the Patchwork Scent Trials private facebook group. Please request to join.
Monthly workshops will be available to help cover all the guidelines plus have a practice. Wendy Rose Clay will be offering workshops to teach you and your dog the Hide & Seek search.
Bronze is the entry level, then we have Silver, Gold, Diamond and Platinum.
Please read the guidelines to see how progression works from one level to the next.
Bronze and Silver consist of three searches.

Gold level adds a fourth search People Scanning
Diamond and Platinum levels will we released soon.
General Guidelines
Each trial will cost £30. Fifty pence from each trial entry will be donated to a dog charity. This will be sent once £50 is reached.
The search areas may be run in any order. The environmental search area will be able to be walked before the scented articles are in place. A white dog will be used for each search area where appropriate.
Running orders will be emailed prior to the trial.
Plus you will be given a personal scoresheet.
Feeding is not permitted in any search area (except the Hide and Seek search). There will be plenty of Reward Zones set up.
Fouling and feeding in a search area will result in one Find being deducted from your final score. There are no handling points.
A half time notification will be offered before each search.
By entering a trial you are agreeing to have your photo added to the Patchwork Scent Trials facebook group. If you do not wish to be included in the qualifying photo then please let this be known at the time of the photo shoot after rosettes have been awarded.
The judges decision is final. Any discrepancies must be dealt with before you leave the trial.
Progression between levels
Bronze level consists of 6 hides.
If all 6 hides are found and no deductions then you will be awarded a SUPERSTAR rosette.
If 4 or 5 hides are found (after any deductions) then you will be awarded a STAR rosette.
Once you receive a Superstar or 2 Star rosettes then you qualify and will be able to progress to Silver Level.
Superstar rosette = 4 points
Star rosette = 2 points
Once you achieve 12 points then you qualify for a Champion rosette. These can be purchased from myself for £5.
Silver level consists of 8 hides
If all 8 hides are found and no deductions then you will be awarded a SUPERSTAR rosette.
If 6 or 7 hides are found (after any deductions) then you will be awarded a STAR rosette.
Once you receive 2 Superstar or 4 Star rosettes then you qualify and will be able to progress to Gold Level.
Once you achieve 14 points then you qualify for a Silver Champion rosette. These can be purchased from myself for £5.
Gold level consists of 10 hides
If all 10 hides are found and no deductions then you will be awarded a SUPERSTAR rosette.
If 8 or 9 hides are found (after any deductions) then you will be awarded a STAR rosette.
Once you receive a 2 Superstar or 4 Star rosettes then you qualify and will be able to progress to Diamond Level.
Once you achieve 16 points then you qualify for a Silver Champion rosette. These can be purchased from myself for £5.

The main aim of these Trials is for you and your dog to have FUN.
You will always take the best dog home!!!
